I am using MSN Money deluxe portfolio (Web based).

Is there a way to have the dividends automatically recorded instead of
having to enter them manually for each stock?

Yes. Right-click into a security in the portfolio, and choose
Settings.

On the General tab, tick NotifyMeOfDividendsForMyHoldings.

I have done that, but unfortunately, it still does not record a dividend.
When I right click and select Historical/Interactive Charts, The chart does
show dividend distribution, but it does not record it in my portfolio.
Perhaps because they are Canadian securities? Here is an example of a
security I'm tracking,

CA:MBT

I have had that security since Jan/07, and even though the chart shows 3
dividends since that time, when I right click and select "show investment
activities", the only activity there is the original buy activity.

Maybe so. I don't know.

To test that theory, try buying US:PPH into a watch account. That
gets frequent dividends.
