I am running XP Pro, ActiveSync 3.7, iPAQ 5555 with
PPC2003 and the Money 2004 for Pocket PC.
I installed Money 2004 on the desktop, setup, etc. Then
downloaded the PocketPC version (yes I'm sure it was
2004) and installed it. Followed the directions for
install, added Money to activesync services and went to
settings to verify config, it shows up in activesync with
calander, contacts, etc, I then connect the iPAQ and sync
it says connecting then the list of services comes back
and money is no longer there. It never syncs. I
disconnect the iPAQ and select the Money sync service
again, it shows up in the list of items to be synced
again, and again I go into the settings for it and make
sure it has the correct database file for money, and
reconnect and sync. Same thing, money dissapears from the
list of items to be synced and it never syncs. I can't
add it when the iPAQ is connected because there is no box
next to the money service until I disconnect. I have
verified that Money is indeed on the iPAQ and it is, I
have reinstalled it and even opened the app on the PDA
and it works fine, it just won't allow activesync to sync
it.
Any ideas?

Well that did it. I removed everything and every trace of
it from both the desktop registry and the PC registry as
well as removing the folder and files from the activesync
directory on the PC followed by a clean install on both
the desktop and PDA making sure to take the defaults
installation path on the PDA and everything worked fine.
Like I said before, it Sure would be nice if Microsoft
could spend some of that multi-billion dollar a day
profit towards getting these things working before they
come out or at least make a proper instruction file that
says only install into the main memory and if you
mistakenly do install to the storage card you won't be
able to sync unless you remove every little file from
both computers and hack every little piece out of the
registries of both your PDA and desktop.
Oh well, what can you do?
