I have searched this discussion group and the internet and I have not seen a
solution that works yet.

The problem I have is that the MSN Money Portfolio option crashes IE7. I
have added the trusted sites that I have seen recommended in other places. I
know that is working as I get the Trusted sites message in the status bar at
the bottom of the screen.

By disabling the PortfolioManager Class add-on, the crashing stops and the
"portfolio box" shows up with the red x.

Has anyone gotten this working at all? If someone is working on a fix, do
we know roughly when it will be available.

I would hate to have to load all of my stock information into another tool.
I have been using this tool for years.

Two possibilities I'm aware of:

1. Conflict with the Windows Live toolbar (try removing the Toolbar)
2. Corrupted local data file. See the "move or delete local file" section of
the following KB: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/284949/en-us

You could try setting up another user, and see if you could access
the portfolio as that user. The reason this might work is that
several things will be set to initial values for the new user.

If this works, you could look at other changes to your regular user.

You could then delete the test user.

Steve,

It has something to do with your specific computer. I know because I have
the identical problem and have not been able to find exactly what is wrong.
Creating new users have the same problem.

I can log in to my portfolio on another computer and it works correctly.
If you can access another computer see if it works for you.

I was able to fix the problem. Please refer to the following link for
information.

I have tried everything you suggests, everything I could find in Microsoft
KBs (Q325971, Q256985, Q176841and many others) and even a lot of guess
work. Nothing fixes it except another computer. I brought a laptop home and
switched my DSL cable to the laptop, logged in to my moneycentral.com stock
page and got a full screen of all my stocks. I couldn't see any way of the
problem being DSL connection but this proved it. It also proved it is
specific to a computer.
