When opening MoneyCentral Portfolio and the "Dividend" dialog box appears, if it is for a
stock that I own, I select it and click "OK".

The program then credits the dividend value to the "Gain" column for that equity.

When, in reality, I have all dividends credited to my Cash account.
That is, I do not automatically reinvest any dividends.

How can I force dividend proceeds into my CASH$ account in MoneyCentral portfolio
in order to reflect real life ?

Thanks,
JIM

Dividends will always be Gain (look at the definition of Gain - mouse over
the gain column: "Realized gain plus Income")
But you can change it from reinvested dividend to simply a dividend if you
desire. Be sure to set the Transfer To field to the appropriate "Cash"
entry.

Thanks Mark.
I cannot find a "TRANSFER TO" option in Portfolio Manager.
I guess I need a step-by-step instruction, if you can.
Many thanks,
JIM

Make sure that the account where this investment is listed has Cash enabled.
(right click the account name and choose See Account Details) and then
enable the Track Cash Transactions option (enter an opening balance if
desired). After you OK this you'll see a Cash line for that account.

Expand the account that holds the investment (if it has a + sign next to the
account name). It's already expanded if it has a - sign next to the account
name.
Expand the investment by click the + sign next to the investment name to
show the transactions
Select the transaction (Dividend) and click Edit or simply double click it
to go into edit mode. Select the "Cash" account for the
destination of the proceeds.

NOTE: Only transactions that result in cash flow (buy, sell, dividends) will
enable/show the Transfer field. If the activity type is a Reinvest activity
then there is no cash flow, so the Transfer field will not be shown.
