Recently upgraded from MS Money 2005 to MS Money Plus Deluxe. Is it normal
for a 9 MB file to take 20 minutes to open??? My PC is a Compaq Presario
running Windows XP Home Edition Ver 2002 Sevice Pack 2 with 2.69 GHz Clock
and 504 MB RAM. Note, once the file opens, navigating thru the various
screens responds reasonably well.
Are there settings I need to change ?
Do I need more RAM?
Disappointed with the upgrade so far,
Mr Wonka

I suggest you consider trying
File->Repair->RemoveAllBillsData
on a copy of your slow file.
This Remove All Bills Data feature would be for people who have
experienced their Money file to run excessively slow.
To get some information within the program,
File->Repair->RemoveAllBillsData
Read the information. Then click cancel.
Before proceeding, make an extra copy or backup of your file
in case you want to undo something.
The problem will be that if you remove all bills, you will probably
want to add at least some of your bills back. This can be done
manually with the aid of the reports that you print out before
removing the bills.
A technique that could help simplify re-entering your bills
afterward would be to go your register and selecting a
representative instance of your past bill and selecting "Make
Recurring" (Ctrl+E). This would be especially helpful if the bill
is complex, such as involving a split.

I can't load the software, at all. I purchased the same product as you. I
should be able to download the software, but on my order confirmation page,
where it says, "electronic download", it's not highlighted in blue, it won't
allow me that option? Do I need to turn off Norton's Anti Virus?
Can anyone help me?

Thank you, Cal Learner; I will review the 'information from within the
program' and proceed cautiously on a copy of my actual file. If it makes a
difference I'll continue with the exercise. In any case, I'll let you know
how it all progresses; I'm glad for your prompt response.
And I have 're-posted' my question on microsoft.public.money.
