Unless you want to put up with these convoluted work
arounds posted below, stay away from Money 04 Small
Business.
This is Aby from Microsoft Money Product Support.
Regarding the invoice receipt transaction which you are
not able to match with corresponding downloaded
transaction, I have performed further research and found
a
method on this issue. By using these steps, we can pay
the invoice payment and
download the transaction from the bank successfully. We
create a new Cash account
in the file and receive the invoice payments into the new
Cash account. Then
transfer the money to the actual account that should
receive the money.
For example, I have an invoice paid into "Checking" and
the category of the payment
is "Invoice Payment". I can track the invoice payment in
the fake account: "Invoice
Payment Cash" and then transfer the money from "Invoice
Payment Cash" to
"Checking". Then download the transaction to match with
the transfer in the
"Checking" account.
I have detailed the steps below. However, I would like
you to know that we still
cannot match a downloaded transaction with an invoice
payment.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Before you perform the following steps
on your Money data file,
please manually copy it with Windows Explorer for backup.
This can keep the data
secure.
1. Create a new Cash account. I assume its name
is "Invoice Payment Cash".
2. Pay an invoice payment in the Account Receivable
account. Please use the cash
account to receive the invoice payment.
3. Create a transfer in the account register of "Invoice
Payment Cash" to transfer
the money to the actual account that should receive this
payment. 4. Download online transactions into that
account and match the downloaded
transaction with the transfer.
Thus, the invoice payment will be tracked correctly and
the downloaded transaction
can match with the existing transaction successfully. I
appreciate your kind
understanding on this issue.
Regarding the issue with the portrait invoices, I have a
work around for the present situation, while I do some
more research on it. I have come to the conclusion that
when we use the 'save as' command, money just saves the
invoice as landscape, eventhough its orientation is
actually portrait. So w hat we have to do is change the
modified invoice's orientation back to portrait. To do
that we will have to take the invoice file outside money
and manually make the change and bring it back. This is
how you do it:
1. Export all the customized invoices to a location on
the hard drive. (In the Money invoice designer, Click
File - Click Export - Click OK for the message - Save) 2.
Open the INV file we just created using 'notepad' and
change the orientation of the required template
to 'portrait'. you will see the orientation of a template
just below its name. (Double Click the INV file - Select
the program to open it as 'notepad' - change landscape to
portrait for the required template - Save the file) (In
the Money invoice designer, Click File - Click Import -
Select the INV file we just modifed - Select the
option 'Replace Existing template' / 'Save with a
different template name' for all the modified templates)
In the meantime, I have forwarded these issues to the
development team for further
investigation. They are currently working hard towards a
solution on this issue to
improve the feature. Thank you for your valuable
information; we greatly appreciate
your cooperation and great work. I also recommend you
submit the information to the
development team directly via Web site:

need further help, don't
