I often give my family members a prepaid card for Christmas. It tends to save me time and they always get what they really want. I think it’s one of the best things to give to kids too, maybe to put their allowance on there every week or so. It can be a good thing to have for a kid.
I think they’re great for kids. They can be a good way to show limits to kids. My youngest who’s 10 has his own card, and we put $20 on it every week. He can spend it on anything he wants, but I suggest he saves $10, either by keeping it on the card or taking it out and saving it. But it’s a great way to teach kids to monitor money imo.
