How do I handle automatic reinvestment of dividends? Do I show it as another
purchase, or is there a setting I need to check?

In Investment Activities for the relevant stock, click on New and then
scroll down the Activity list to "Reinvest dividend".

I do not respond to any emails that I have not specifically asked for.

Hey Bob,

Is there a way to set the default action to dividend reinvestment? Now it
shows up as dividend.

Thanks,

Frank

No...since there is no way for it to know the actual posted date to an
account to calculate a number of shares from a share price.
...i.e. in many cases the actual date of the dividend is not necessarily the
reinvestment date of record.

...i.e. in many cases the actual date of the dividend is not necessarily the
reinvestment date of record. Even if you change the date manually, the
record still needs to be toggled to reinvest from dividend.
